With the NZAV's aim to introduce Netherland(ers) to indigeneous South African culture, the idea to find collaboration from South African Guest Houses was developed.
South African Guest Houses offer general services to travellers, and can be recommended as a popular alternative to hotel accommodation. Guest Houses are generally known for its warm and intimate atmosphere.
Apart from the possibility to enjoy the stylish living of a private home, meeting South Africans personally, experiencing their language and culture, and forming friendships, are some of the benefits available when residing in guest houses. Visiting a farm in the Karoo for instance, could be an unforgettable experience.
Guest Houses under the auspices of the Dutch South African Society will comply to some of the following criteria:
- the guest house will introduce visitors to the Afrikaans language and culture
- the owners will be Afrikaans speaking South Africans
When you wish to be included into the list of guest houses of the Dutch South Africa Society, please take up contact with the Society (NZAV). You will be contacted by one of our representatives.
With Johan and Ode Krige as coordinators in Stellenbosch, a list of guest houses have been made available. As members of the NZAV, these guest houses are prepared and informed to receive visitors from the Netherlands.
Should you wish to make an enquiry about the unique network of "NZAV" Guest Houses, you are cordially invited to take up contact with either Johan and Ode Krige at Caledon Villa in Stellenbosch, www.caledonvilla.co.za, make a choice from the list of guest houses on this website, or make an inquiry using nzav [at] zuidafrikahuis [dot] no or call +31 20 624 9318.
